About The Position

This position offers leadership opportunities in the Housewares and Seasonal departments, aiming for individuals to be a successful part of the management team. Department Managers are responsible for providing high levels of customer service and directing and coordinating sales within their assigned department, in partnership with the Store Manager. Key tasks include greeting customers, cashier duties, answering product questions, product assembly, and general housekeeping. Openings may also be available in other departments such as Automotive, Animal Health/Pets, Hardware/Plumbing/Electrical, Tools, Outdoor Power Equipment, Sporting Goods/Firearms, or Clothing & Footwear. The role requires working days, nights, and every other weekend and/or holidays.

Requirements

  • Ability to work an irregular work schedule
  • Excellent customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Previous warehouse and forklift experience preferred.
  • Customer Service training and or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the receipt and distribution of merchandise at the retail store.
  • Set priorities for distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department.
  • Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of assigned department.
  • Utilize appropriate receiving procedures to accurately record products received.
  • Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members.
  • Clean & Organize Department
  • Ensure that safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
