About The Position

Simons is seeking a Department Manager to join their team. The Department Manager will be the first stop for associates looking for advice and training to deliver fantastic customer service.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of working in a fast-paced retail environment with direct experience managing both people and processes in fast-paced, high-traffic settings.
  • Experienced and enthusiastic about engaging with customers on the sales floor to provide outstanding service.
  • Open to a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate operational demands.
  • Natural leader who can manage the excitement of a dynamic retail environment while overseeing everyday operations.
  • Creativity, passion for service, and dedication to customers.
  • Fashionista, showcasing a deep understanding of current fashion trends, brands, fabrics and styles, as well as the ability to forecast future trends.
  • Ability to style anyone who comes your way.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach associates, empowering them to enhance their service one customer at a time.
  • Ensure employees are equipped and motivated to engage in outstanding interactions while servicing customers, ensuring they leave satisfied.
  • Lead by example and inspire employees to turn potential obstacles into opportunities to strengthen relationships and create positive outcomes.
  • Set the bar high and show the team what success looks like in the Toronto market, ensuring that everyone masters the art of delivering the exceptional Simons service experience to every visitor.
  • Lead the training and development of employees, ensuring they execute service with excellence in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Play the lead role in curating a vibrant and inviting sales floor that showcases exceptional merchandise.
  • Collaborate with Area Directors and employees to create eye-catching visual displays.
  • Keep communication with the buying team to ensure inventory levels are on point, so the right products are always at hand.
  • Closely collaborate with Area Directors to thoroughly assess departmental performance, identify specific employee training needs, and proactively address operational challenges.
  • Develop strategies to enhance merchandising effectiveness and ensure that solutions are oriented toward achieving business needs.
