Leidos' Defense Systems Sector is seeking a talented Logistics and Sustainment Department Manager to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. Primary Responsibilities Successful candidate will be responsible for leading and serving the organizational needs in the areas of logistics and sustainment for Defense Sector products. The position will manage a team of 40+ logistics, sustainment, and fso personnel, and will grow the department to support the growing needs of the Leidos Defense Sector product line. The organization will be a matrix organization where routine assessment of resource demands is necessary to allocate required skills and personnel for program needs. Responsibilities include developing a team for performing system fault analysis, life cycle maintenance and integrated product support (IPS) of major systems. Duties of the team may include controlling the flow of goods, services and information between the point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements as well as ensure the execution and improvement of standard logistic processes. The candidate should have a strong logistics and sustainment background in supporting defense systems. The candidate will be required to manages a large team of experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Basic Qualifications BA/BS or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years or prior relevant experience Generally has 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects 5+ years experience planning controlling and optimizing stock of goods to meet customer demand Strong communication skills, able to prepare and present briefings to upper management as well as executives Strong leadership skills, to include experience leading with influence, and building large and small teams, mentoring, crucial conversations, planning work, executing work Experience identifying, and addressing performance challenges with team members and driving to resolution with respect for the individual balanced with protection of business success Experience working with peers, and subordinates in team to plan and execute required L&S program tasks Experience developing/utilizing processes and tools for L&S teams Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance Preferred Qualifications Candidate with experience in FMECA, reliability studies, and building an L&S database to track product performance data.
