About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales within their assigned department. This role involves providing the highest level of customer service and requires extensive knowledge and understanding of clothing, footwear, and accessories. The Department Manager will direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products, set priorities for new merchandise distribution, and ensure adequate inventory levels. They will also assist customers with purchases, work with Retail Buyers on product needs, and assist in training new team members. Safety practices and department cleanliness are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge and understanding of clothing, footwear, accessories, etc are needed.
Ability to work days, nights, and every other weekend and/or holidays.
Excellent customer service skills required

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
Set priorities for distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department.
Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of assigned department.
Assist customers with purchases.
Theft Tag Prevention
Work closely with Retail Buyer(s) to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs and other product information.
Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members.
Clean & Organize Department
Ensure that safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
