About The Position

The Department Head supports store operations by carrying out daily goals and priorities assigned by the store manager. The role includes unloading and putting away incoming merchandise as arranged by management, maintaining displays and price tags, handling special orders for non-stock items, responding to radio requests, and providing customer service. The employee is expected to follow Elder’s policy when addressing potential shoplifting and to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred.
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of retail experience.
Technical proficiency with computer systems and related software.
Ability to gather and analyze data and maintain accurate records.
Ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, and execute tasks thoroughly.
Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record under the company’s insurance carrier standards.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual Spanish verbal and written communication skills are strongly preferred.
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise as arranged by management.
Execute daily operational goals and priorities assigned by the store manager.
Remove promotional bin tags from displays and price tags as required.
Restock merchandise displays as needed and monitor end caps and side wings.
Handle special orders for all non-stock items.
Check with a manager before telling a customer that a request cannot be fulfilled.
Watch for shoplifters and act in accordance with Elder’s policy to discourage shoplifting.
Provide excellent customer service and interaction to help prevent shoplifting.
Respond to radio requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
