About The Position

Responsible for the complete operation of casing machinery and related equipment. The operator conducts machine operations, quality checks, records required data, makes process adjustments, performs changeovers, and supports line performance and maintenance. The position also contributes to team activities and follows company operating systems, policies, quality procedures, and safety practices. Other duties may be assigned in support of business objectives.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Background in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Operate casing machinery and related equipment, including loading trays, unjamming equipment, selecting tray sizes and types, adjusting the tray holder, troubleshooting minor problems, and cleaning and sanitizing as directed.
Conduct online quality checks and sampling to ensure finished products meet specifications.
Follow procedures for placing materials on hold and reworking held product back into processing.
Record required data, including downtime information, and make process adjustments based on quality inspection data.
Adhere to corporate manufacturing practices, standard operating procedures, critical control points, and safety practices.
Perform changeovers and communicate with the palletizer.
Identify potential problems, notify management, and assist mechanics with preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs as needed.
Work to optimize machine and overall line performance.
Participate in team development, communication, implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work and attend team meetings.
Support team cohesiveness by raising issues to the team leader and working collaboratively toward resolution and organizational synergy.
Maintain familiarity with Simmons operating systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
