About The Position

Metropolitan Endodontics is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Sterilization Technician to support their clinical team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure all operatories, instruments, and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for patient care, which is essential for maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient dental environment. The practice emphasizes patient care and teamwork, aiming to deliver top-notch services in a welcoming atmosphere.

Must be able to hear staff and speak clearly in order to communicate information to staff.
Must have sufficient near vision acuity to read material and computer screens and to distinguish between dental instruments to pass/exchange instruments between staff.
Must have manual and physical dexterity to handle and pass dental instruments used in the provision of dental care.
Must have manual and physical dexterity to operate a computer and handle paper documents.

Responsibilities

Prepare dental instruments for sterilization and decontamination in accordance with OSHA protocols.
Sterilize non-instrument items for surgical procedures.
Take inventory and stock supplies, instruments, and medications.
Sort and store sterilized instruments and equipment.
Assemble instrument trays with supplies and equipment according to patient care requirements and transport them to appropriate areas.
Observe Universal Precautions regarding the handling of infectious waste.
Maintain dental equipment and operatories in good, clean condition.
Perform all tests and maintenance on equipment to meet licensing, accreditation, safety, and infection control standards.
Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly OSHA records.
Assist other team members as needed.
Perform care calls for previous day's treatment patients if needed.
Maintain personal protection per OSHA guidelines.
Assume responsibility for other expanded duties delegated by the doctor.
Follow all HIPAA rules and regulations.
