About The Position

Muskegon Family Care is looking for a Dental Manager to join their supportive and collaborative team. This role provides day-to-day administrative support and coordination by overseeing the operation of the dental clinic and setting standards for clinic employees, under the direct supervision of the Dental Director.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Knowledge of grant funding and grant-writing experience is desired.
  • Understanding of the health care needs of diverse (often under-served) populations preferred with a capacity to organize health services around such needs.

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S or B.B.A) or an associate’s degree with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides primary support to the Dental Director and contributes to team efficiency by giving support both operationally and administratively.
  • Assists with the development of strategic plans, operations/business plans including marketing strategies, which will increase utilization of the clinics.
  • Develops, interprets and implements cost effective policies, objectives and operational procedures for business and dental staff.
  • Recommend changes in administrative policies to carry out the objectives of Muskegon Family Care more effectively.
  • Implements Patient Satisfaction Program, which includes collection, analyzing data reporting, and CQI.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory standards (PCER, HRSA, OSHA, ADA, etc.).
  • Coordinates Dental Assistant and Clerical Staff functions to ensure smooth flow of operations.
  • Evaluates the performance of all Dental Assistants and Clerical Staff quality and quantity of work.
  • Responsible for the timekeeping and payroll function for all Dental Assistants and Clerical Staff including but not limited to monitoring attendance, approving and inputting time off requests.
  • Assist with interviews of potential candidates, hiring decisions, disciplinary actions and termination.
  • Coordinates daily procedures and handles staff and patient issues that arise using conflict management, communication and motivation skills.
  • Work to ensure that practice transformation as it relates to customer service, patient follow up and meeting quality measures.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets and allocation of funds, based on studies of cost and reviews clinic budget estimates.
  • Responsible for overseeing the scheduling of all dental providers including building and maintaining individual schedules according to needs of the clinic.
  • Maintains oversight of patient issues relative to discharges and provider changes.
  • Maintains up to date list and information for service contacts, in conjunction with the Procurement Specialist.
  • Consults frequently with providers, management, staff, peers to ensure program implementation and resolution of issues.
  • Consults with Directors and Managers to surmise Muskegon Family Care’s involvement in community outreach efforts for the up-and-coming year.
  • Regular and prompt attendance at work.
  • All other duties as assigned.
