This job fair is for multiple Dental Lab Technician roles, including Comfort Splint Tech, Clear Occlusal Splint Tech, Silent Nite Technician, and Comfort Stabilizer Technician. These roles involve fabricating and repairing various dental prostheses and appliances such as dentures, partials, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers, and implant restorations. Technicians will read and interpret dental prescriptions, work with a wide range of materials (metal and non-metal), and use various hand tools and equipment. Responsibilities include making models from impressions, building wax replicas, encasing wax in mold material, and replacing wax with plastic, metal, or ceramic materials. Some roles involve building up ceramic restorations, polishing, finishing, and applying stains and glazes for a natural look. Technicians will utilize supplies and equipment through techniques like plaster casting, metal casting, die trimming, metal polishing, wax modeling, wire bending, sandblasting, electroplating, electro-spot welding, and CAD/CAM. They will document actions, work with quality control, follow protocols, and prepare equipment. Some positions are learning-focused, requiring supervision and documentation of learning through quizzes and worksheets, while others involve independent decision-making based on technical knowledge. All roles require attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to recognize and report problem cases. The positions are located in Irvine, near John Wayne Airport.
