About The Position
AMC seeks a Part-Time Dental Hygienist for Healdsburg/Windsor, .8 FTE (4 days/32 hours per week, Monday-Friday). Join an organization respected and well-loved by the community. Under the supervision of the Dentist, the Dental Hygienist provides comprehensive periodontal care, including cleaning teeth and examining oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. This role may involve educating patients on oral hygiene, taking and developing X-rays, or applying fluoride or sealants.
Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of accredited Dental Hygienist program.
- Registered dental hygienist license, x-ray license, and current CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- One year experience in Dental Office or Clinic preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Wisdom/EPIC EHR skills a plus.
- Sensitivity to the needs and situations of a multi-cultural, low income population and a desire to work within this population.
Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive periodontal care to patients including scaling, root planning, prophylaxis and education.
- Educates patients regarding dental procedures, home care and post-op instructions.
- Monitors and reinforces instrument sterilization and operatory disinfection and barrier control.
- Documents procedures in patient charts.
- Reviews patient’s health histories.
