Requirements

• License in dental hygiene
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Current state license to practice dental hygiene.
• Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Take and develop digital dental x-rays
• Review medical history and perform preliminary examinations
• Communicate findings with the dentist and enter pre-existing treatment in patient charts
• Develop treatment plans with the dentist and treatment coordinator
• Communicate with patients and staff in a professional and friendly manner
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Perform dental cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and oral cancer screenings
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental office
• Fill hygiene schedule as needed
