About The Position
Works under the supervision of a licensed dentist, responsible for providing patients with quality dental services and reinforcing dental hygiene. This role requires proficiency in digital radiography and electronic dental records, performing deep cleanings, screening for periodontal disease, and maintaining instruments and work areas according to OSHA standards. The position also involves assisting the dentist during exams, providing thorough charting, and maintaining a re-care system with monthly reporting.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an ADA-accredited Dental Hygiene program.
- One year experience performing as a Dental Hygienist.
- State of Ohio Dental Hygienist Licensure.
Responsibilities
- Performing digital radiography and electronic dental records.
- Reviewing patient's oral health history.
- Providing proper quality hygiene for every patient.
- Reinforcing oral hygiene instruction, including teaching appropriate brushing and flossing techniques.
- Performing deep cleanings (scale and root plane).
- Screening patients for periodontal disease.
- Maintaining instruments in good working condition with proper sterilization.
- Maintaining OSHA standards.
- Assisting Dentist during exams.
- Providing thorough charting on every patient.
- Keeping working areas clean and organized.
- Functioning with minimal supervision.
- Maintaining re-care system with monthly reporting to Chief Dental Officer.
- Being a team player with a positive attitude.
