About The Position

Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC), a Federally Qualified Health Center in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist. The position provides preventive and therapeutic oral health services and helps patients develop the knowledge and skills to maintain good oral health. The Dental Hygienist works collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, and other members of RAHC’s integrated health care team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care. The role may also include participation in school-based and mobile dental programs, bringing preventive care to children and others who may have difficulty accessing services. RAHC’s mission is to promote and provide access to comprehensive, high-quality, affordable health care to improve the health and well-being of the greater community.

Requirements

• Unrestricted license to practice dental hygiene in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands-on practicum.
• Eligible to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive and therapeutic oral health services.
• Help patients develop the knowledge and skills needed to maintain good oral health.
• Collaborate with dentists, dental assistants, and other members of the integrated health care team to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Participate in school-based and mobile dental programs to bring preventive dental care to people who may have difficulty accessing services.
