About The Position

The Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing oral hygiene services, preventive care, periodontal maintenance, and restorative support to patients of the health center. Northland Health Centers Mission - Delivering patient centered, accessible, quality-driven, medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare, to all generations to strengthen the health status in the communities we serve, regardless of the ability to pay. Northland Health Centers has a Drug-Free Workplace Policy. An accepted offer will require a drug screen, pre-employment background screening, and Influenza vaccination as a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Dental Hygiene program
  • Current state license to practice Dental Hygiene
  • Proficient in chairside assisting and patient care
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology and medical records
  • Experience with aseptic techniques and patient assessment
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide dental cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and preventive services
  • Perform oral health assessments, charting, and diagnostic support
  • Assist with restorative procedures and chairside duties
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and preventive care
  • Maintain infection control and aseptic techniques
  • Document patient information in electronic dental records
  • Follow HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
  • Support overall clinic workflow and patient experience
