Dental Hygienist

The dental hygienist works under the supervision of the office manager and dentist. This role involves conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth, and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. The hygienist collaborates with the dentist to determine treatments for teeth or gum disease and handle dental emergencies. Requirements
- Associates Degree, from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) approved dental and allied dental education program (Required)
- Dental Hygienist - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)

- 1 year Recent relevant experience (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Conducts initial patient screenings and maintains knowledge of subject matter to assist Dentist in making treatment decisions for teeth or gum disease.
- Cleans and protects patients' teeth by removing plaque and/or applying fluoride.
- Maintains a deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies.
- Educates patients of all ages on proper teeth care.
