About The Position

Under supervision of the Dentist, the Dental Hygienist administers oral prophylaxes of all new patients and service semiannually on continuing patients. The hygienist is responsible for periapical x-rays on these patients. In the absence of the supervisor or director, performs scheduling and work assignments based upon patient flow needs. Ability to provide rotating weekend coverage based on operational need is a MUST

Requirements

• High school diploma/ GED required
• Completion of a Dental Hygienist program required
• NYS Licensure for Dental Hygienist

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a Dental Hygienist in a dental setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Complete Oral Prophylaxes on patients
• Complete periapical x-rays as needed
• Documentation of the oral examination in the patients electronic dental record
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
• Education to patients and families
• Work with front desk staff on scheduling
