About The Position

Singing River Dentistry Dental Hygienists are licensed oral healthcare professionals who serve as both clinicians and educators. They are responsible for delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic care while educating patients on the importance of maintaining optimal oral health. This role focuses on the prevention, identification, and management of oral disease through clinical expertise, patient-centered communication, and adherence to established standards of care.

Requirements

  • Active Dental Hygiene license issued by the Alabama Board of Dental Examiners

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for each day’s schedule by reviewing patient charts, medical histories, and planned or outstanding treatment
  • Deliver an exceptional patient experience by creating a welcoming, comfortable, and engaging environment
  • Accurately obtain and document patients’ vital signs, including blood pressure, and review and update medical histories
  • Perform preventive and diagnostic procedures, including dental cleanings, radiographs, periodontal screenings, and other indicated treatments in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Identify areas of concern and communicate findings clearly to both the patient and the dentist
  • Provide comprehensive patient education using intraoral cameras, visual aids, and verbal instruction to promote oral health awareness and treatment acceptance
  • Accurately record clinical findings, periodontal charting, and treatment notes in patient records
  • Chart existing dental conditions and document recommended or needed treatment
  • Collaborate effectively with the dentist and team members to ensure continuity of care and efficient patient flow
  • Schedule and coordinate patient recall and continuing care appointments
  • Maintain compliance with all infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines
