About The Position

NiteLines USA is seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist to provide on-site services at the Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee in Tallahassee, FL. Established in 1994, NiteLines USA is a growing health care organization with a strong focus on integrity, respect, accountability, and collaboration. This role involves assisting the Dental Officer in various dental specialty sections, managing patient flow, preparing instruments and materials, and providing dental health education. The position requires meticulous record-keeping, equipment maintenance, and the ability to assist in emergency cases. Requirements

  • Certified/licensed as a Dental Hygienist in Florida.
  • Dental radiology certification.
  • Anesthesia certification.
  • CPR certification.

  • A minimum of one year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Dental Officer in dental specialty sections: restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations.
  • Retrieves patient's records and escorts patients to proper dental specialty section; seats and prepares patient for attending Dental Officer.
  • Assists Dental Officer by preparing dental instruments, essential materials, drugs, and medications.
  • Passes instruments, retracts tissues, irrigates oral cavity, and operates aspirator.
  • Observes patient's responses and assists patient for dismissal from the Dental Clinic.
  • Gives instructions for subsequent dental appointments.
  • Makes necessary entries on dental treatment records (both electronic and paper records).
  • Prepares dental treatment room for the next patient.
  • Assists in the treatment of emergency cases.
  • Provides dental health education.
  • Charting for dental screening exams.
  • Preparation of patients for periodontal surgery.
  • Dental and periodontal charting.
  • Places temporary fillings.
  • Prepares, places, and removes packs.
  • Places and removes rubber dams.
  • Maintains dental equipment.
  • Cleans, sharpens, and sterilizes instruments.
  • Performs daily inspection of equipment and makes minor repairs.
  • Reports defective equipment or utilizes corrective action.
  • Prepares entries for patient's records.
