About The Position

Union Community Care (UCC) is seeking a Dental Hygienist to provide basic hygiene services to their patients. The role involves administrative duties such as monitoring patient care quality, developing educational programs, and performing other assigned tasks. Clinically, the hygienist will provide dental hygiene care, facilitate oral health education, maintain patient records, and participate in continuing education. Billing responsibilities include accurately coding procedures and ensuring prior authorization for required treatments. This position is essential for fulfilling UCC's mission of whole health and community well-being.

Requirements

Active Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist License
Dental Hygiene degree from accredited school
Successful completion of Union Community Care’s (UCC) credentialing process
Participation in all insurance plans that UCC accepts
English proficiency required

Nice To Haves

Some administrative experience preferred

Responsibilities

Monitor the quality of patient care and recommend and implement changes for improving patient care
Develop educational programs for Head Start and other community agencies
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Dental Director
Provide dental hygiene care for patients
Facilitate oral health education for patients both clinically and in outreach settings
Maintain legible, legal documentation in patient charts as directed by department policies
Participate in continuing education to stay abreast on new techniques and procedures in the field of dentistry
Accurately code procedures following each dental visit
Follow processes for ensuring prior authorization is received before initiation of procedures that require prior authorization
Performs other work-related duties as assigned
