Requirements

Current Maryland Dental Hygienist license
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-focused care
Current BLS/CPR certifications
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
Knowledgeable about periodontal health and comfortable with patient education
Experience with dental practice software
Team player mentality - strong collaborator that is open, flexible, and has a positive attitude

Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with patients, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience
Help patients improve and maintain lifelong oral health
Perform dental cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and screenings with quality care during check-ups
Educate patients in oral hygiene technique and working with patients and their oral hygiene care
Review patient's history and charting
Partner with doctors to identify and communicate treatment needs and support with procedures as needed
Administer prophylactic treatment by scaling and polishing
Document area of existing restorations
Use digital radiographs and maintain accurate clinical records
