About The Position
The Smilist is seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated Dental Hygiene Assistant to support its dental practice and help provide high-quality care in a warm, welcoming, and professional environment. The assistant helps patients feel comfortable, prepares them for treatment, and assists hygienists so they can provide efficient, quality dental care. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, and is located in Academy, Pennsylvania. The stated pay range is $20.00–$25.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Active Pennsylvania x-ray license.
- Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail and a positive attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Prior Dentrix experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while addressing their individual concerns and promoting the hygienist’s strengths.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where patients feel comfortable.
- Prepare patients for treatment and assist hygienists in providing efficient, quality dental care.
- Escort patients to and from the front desk.
- Prepare tray setups for dental procedures.
- Maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
