You will perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Some of these responsibilities include: preparing patients for dental hygiene procedures, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, schedule appointments, prepare bills and receive payment for dental services, complete insurance forms, and maintain records, must be comfortable with performing tasks on a computer. Responsibilities

  • Ensure patients are as comfortable as possible in the dental chair.
  • Perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties.
  • Prepare patients for dental hygiene procedures.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments.
  • Set up instrument trays.
  • Prepare materials.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Prepare bills and receive payment for dental services.
  • Complete insurance forms.
  • Maintain records.
  • Expose dental diagnostic X-Rays.
  • Record treatment information in patient records.
  • Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Polish teeth, using dental instruments including cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
  • Assist hygienist with perio charting and doctor’s exam.
  • Assist hygienist in Scaling and Root Planing Procedures.
  • Apply protective coating of fluoride to teeth.
  • Placement of sealants as prescribed by dental hygienist and dentist.
  • Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
  • Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dental hygienists and dentists.
