About The Position
As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, you will ensure patients are as comfortable as possible in the dental chair. You will perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Lumio Dental is a dental partnership organization dedicated to preserving the integrity of private practice, serving patients in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. Requirements
- Must be comfortable with performing tasks on a computer
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental hygiene procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments
- Set up instrument trays
- Prepare materials
- Schedule appointments
- Prepare bills and receive payment for dental services
- Complete insurance forms
- Maintain records
- Expose dental diagnostic X-Rays
- Record treatment information in patient records
- Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients
- Polish teeth, using dental instruments including cleaning and polishing removable appliances
- Assist hygienist with perio charting and doctor’s exam
- Assist hygienist in Scaling and Root Planing Procedures
- Apply protective coating of fluoride to teeth
- Placement of sealants as prescribed by dental hygienist and dentist
- Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs
- Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dental hygienists and dentists
