About The Position

Under direct supervision, this entry-level position is responsible for utilizing an instrument tracking system to dispense and retrieve dental instruments and equipment. The role assists with routine tasks in central sterilization dispensary operations that support patient care.

Requirements

• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, pay attention to details and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Solid customer service acumen and interpersonal skills to effectively work with both internal and external customers.
• Proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• May require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and orders materials used for patient care and laboratory procedures.
• Inspects equipment packages for completeness and working order upon return.
• Assists with dispensing supplies and providing follow-up on all loaned equipment.
• Assists with maintaining inventory and stacking dental consumables and supplies into dispensing areas and laboratories.
• Performs regular infection control maintenance protocols inside and outside the clinic area.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
