About The Position

Overjet provides licensed dental claims review for insurers through a nationwide network of dental consultants. In this part-time, remote contractor role, you will apply your clinical expertise as a Board-Certified Oral Surgeon to review insurance claims for medical necessity and eligibility, process claim appeals, and confer with providers. You will use Overjet’s dental AI technology to support your decision-making. The position requires an active, unrestricted Florida dental license and is expected to take 5–10 hours per week.

Requirements

• D.D.S. or D.M.D. from an accredited dental school.
• Board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
• Active, unrestricted dental license in Florida.
• Proficiency with CDT codes and dental procedures.
• Strong computer skills and comfort with remote platforms such as Zoom.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior claims review experience strongly preferred (2+ years).

Responsibilities

• Authorize or deny predeterminations and claims by reviewing radiographs and/or other supporting documentation in accordance with member plan benefits, with support from Overjet’s dental AI technology.
• Evaluate appeals, request additional information, make revised claim decisions, and provide further recommendations.
• Communicate claim review outcomes to participating dentists and plan members.
• Participate in training and calibration sessions and provide regular feedback to improve claims review productivity and accuracy.
