About The Position

Hope Clinic is seeking a mission-driven Dental Clinic Manager to lead the daily operations of our dental program. This role is a key member of our dental leadership team and plays a vital part in ensuring smooth clinic workflow, efficient scheduling, strong team collaboration, and high-quality patient care. The Dental Clinic Manager position is part-time, Monday through Thursday for a total of 28 hours. Occasional Saturday work may be required for special clinic days. Position offers generous amount of paid vacation and sick time, as well as 10+ paid holidays including the week between Christmas and New Years.

Requirements

  • Administrative management experience, preferably in a dental clinic
  • Experience supervising both clinical and administrative staff
  • Experience with scheduling, patient charting, and dental software systems
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Exceptional patient service mindset
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to quality improvement and patient satisfaction
  • Comfort working with diverse patient populations, including limited or non-English speaking patients

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinic operations and supervise staff activities
  • Develop and manage staff schedules, ensuring accountability and coverage
  • Participate in hiring dental professionals and manage in-clinic onboarding and credentialing
  • Schedule and lead weekly dental staff meetings (rotating leadership model)
  • Review and approve timesheets for administrative and clinical support staff
  • Partner with Dental Director and HR on performance management, compliance, and corrective action
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries and coordinate volunteer schedules
  • Support and promote Hope Clinic’s volunteer-driven care model, including working with dental students
  • Serve as OSHA/MIOSHA and HIPAA compliance officer (training, documentation, and protocol updates)
  • Schedule required clinic trainings (e.g., Dentrix Ascend)
  • Oversee dental purchasing and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain equipment logs (purchase dates, costs, serial numbers)
  • Assist with dental unit water testing and documentation
  • Support appointment scheduling when needed
  • Coordinate referrals and radiographs with specialists and track completed services
  • Collaborate closely with Dental Directors to identify and resolve operational issues
  • Collect and analyze data for grants, reports, and internal projects
  • Participate in annual budget development with Dental Directors and Hope Clinic management team
  • Contribute to weekly Hope Clinic team check-ins
  • Gather and share dental program stories and statistics for board reporting
  • Represent the dental department in the community
  • Serve as liaison to regional dental schools, including University of Michigan Dental School and University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, to support partnerships and student placements
