About The Position

The Dental Business Supervisor is a key contributor to the success of the dental clinic by ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the clinic within the Pascua Yaqui Tribe Health Services. This position oversees administrative and business functions, including managing dental office staff, overseeing financial activities, coordinating patient scheduling, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and tribal policies.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in business administration or greater than 4 years of experience in the dental office setting.
  • Previous experience in dental office management, dental administration, or healthcare administration is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dental billing, insurance procedures, and financial management in healthcare.
  • Proficiency in using dental practice management software and other relevant office tools.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License.
  • Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the dental clinic to ensure efficiency and adherence to established protocols.
  • Supervise and guide dental office staff, including receptionists, dental assistants, and administrative personnel.
  • Implement and enforce clinic policies and procedures to maintain a high patient care and customer service standard.
  • Collaborate with the Dental Director and other relevant stakeholders to improve clinic workflow and productivity.
  • Maintains and oversees contract continuation and approval for dental staff and laboratories who are not full-time employees of the tribe.
  • Manage and monitor the dental clinic's budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Oversee billing and payment processes, including insurance claim inquiries.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Supervise appointment scheduling to maximize dental clinic utilization and minimize patient waiting times.
  • Work closely with dental providers to ensure a well-organized and efficient patient flow.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns about appointments, billing, and other administrative matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tribal, state, and federal regulations and dental industry standards.
  • Conforms and monitors HIPAA.
  • Keep abreast of dental coding, billing, and documentation requirements changes and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Work with the Dental Director to conduct periodic audits and quality assurance activities.
  • Identify training needs of dental office staff and organize appropriate training programs.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment, promoting professional growth and skill enhancement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for dental office staff, providing constructive feedback and recognition of achievements.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by the supervisor or director.
