Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of dental assisting experience required
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dentist chairside during examinations and dental procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment in accordance with OSHA and office protocols
  • Expose and process dental diagnostic radiographs, experience in iTero scanning
  • Take and record medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment information in patient charts
  • Assist during administration of nitrous oxide
  • Make preliminary impressions and occlusal registrations for study casts, fabrication of temporary crowns
  • Clean and polish removable dental appliances
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records
  • Support patient comfort through attentive, compassionate care
  • Assist with dental and medical emergencies according to office and OSHA procedures
  • Maintain current CPR certification
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and identify maintenance needs when necessary
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all patient and team interactions according to HIPPA
  • Adhere to office policies, attendance expectations, and assigned work schedules
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities and priorities
  • Collaborate positively with team members to support overall office success
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
