Requirements

  • One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Successful completion of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dentist during procedures by preparing tools, charting findings, and managing suction and irrigation
  • Set up and break down workspaces, sterilize instruments, and mix materials for dental use
  • Expose, process, mount, and review radiographs for clarity and diagnostic quality
  • Take dental impressions and prepare diagnostic casts for evaluation
  • Organize, file, and retrieve dental records in line with required guidelines
  • Explain preventative and post-procedure care in a clear and supportive manner
