About The Position

Critical to the delivery of safe and efficient oral health care. They participate in direct patient care by providers through pre visit planning, organization of supplies and equipment for procedural care, preparation of patients and families before the start of the procedures and chair side assisting. They perform independent tasks as directed by providers, supervisors and manager in support of the provision of care.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required
  • 1+ years dental assisting experience, successful completion of dental assisting program or employment of Children’s Wisconsin Dental Center for at least one year in the dental assistant I position with successful performance required
  • Proficiency in 4‑handed dentistry, sterilization and x‑ray techniques.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact courteously and respectfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team.
  • Computer, keyboard and word processing skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic PC issues.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet patient care needs.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Pediatric or Special Needs dental assisting preferred
