About The Position

The Dental Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to the Dentist to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care. This role requires flexibility and a team-oriented approach to support overall program and departmental goals. Requirements

  • Certificate in Dental Assisting from a Dental Assisting Program required. Must maintain annual continuing education hours as required for certification as Dental Assistant.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience as a Dental Assistant required.
  • Must maintain current professional licensure in Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain licensure within ninety (90) days of date of hire.
  • Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain certification during the first week of employment.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  • Proficient in computers, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

  • Physically able to perform job duties, including lifting up to 40 lbs and extended standing

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dental software preferred. (Dentrix and Dexis)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dentist with chairside procedures and patient care
  • Take and process dental X-rays
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Ensure proper sterilization, cleanliness, and infection control
  • Prepare and organize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms
  • Manage supplies and maintain inventory
  • Support scheduling, patient communication, and front desk tasks
  • Perform basic lab duties and provide oral hygiene education
  • Follow all safety, compliance, and clinic protocols
