About The Position
East Cobb Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced and energetic Dental Assistant to join their growing team. This position offers a 3-day workweek (approximately 24 hours per week), primarily Monday through Wednesday, with eligibility for a full-time benefits package. Some Saturdays may be available for additional hours. The ideal candidate will be confident in their clinical skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and be a supportive member of a modern dental practice.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience
- Strong chairside and clinical assisting skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one-year related experience and/or training or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience in the dental profession
- Valid X-ray certificate
- Current license if CDA, RDA, or EFDA (per state requirements)
- CPR & first aid certificate
- Dependable, energetic, and team-oriented
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced dental practice
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Open Dental preferred
- Experience with iTero preferred
- Implant assisting experience is a plus
- Clear aligner experience is a plus
- Ability to fabricate temporary crowns preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures
- Anticipate the doctor's needs and assist efficiently throughout treatment
- Take dental X-rays
- Prepare and turn over treatment rooms
- Maintain sterilization and infection control standards
- Assist with digital workflows and scanning
- Fabricate temporary crowns
- Assist with implants and clear aligner treatment
- Educate patients and help create an excellent patient experience
- Work closely with the clinical team to keep the schedule running smoothly
