About The Position

Assists Dentist in treatment of patients. Cleans treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments are sterile. Acts as a liaison between patients, providers, and staff members by providing prompt and professional service per the patient’s needs. Performs routine duties associated with revenues, schedules, referrals and protects patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); dental assistant certification and/or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Current BLS Certification

Responsibilities

• Clean all rooms thoroughly and ensure that all instruments, handpieces, and burs are always sterile
• Sets up operations in all rooms according to proper procedure before the patient sees the provider. Including, stocking items, cleaning instruments, spraying surfaces, and replacing plastic coverings.
• Performs maintenance according to proper protocol on ultrasonic, autoclave, x-ray developer.
• Attends to appointment changes and rescheduling patients accordingly
• Maintains and updates MSDS book as necessary
• Utilizes the autoclave to sterilize instruments according to protocol including necessary spore testing procedure
• Understands and properly cares for ultrasonic device and performs appropriate quality control
• Assist the Dentist and Hygienist in ensuring that the educational needs of the patient are met
• Understands and performs appropriate QC for X-Ray developer
