Requirements

  • Must possess a current and valid Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer Certificate (or be highly motivated to obtain it immediately).
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on dental assisting experience is preferred, though exceptional recent graduates from accredited dental assisting programs are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working in a high-volume public health, Medicaid, or corporate dental setting is a plus.
  • Comfortable working on your feet and managing a steady daily flow of patients.
  • Familiarity with digital dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft) and digital imaging sensors.
  • Active BLS / CPR certification for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide seamless, high-quality four-handed dentistry assistance for general clinical procedures, including composite restorations, extractions, root canals, and crown/bridge preps.
  • Assist with denture workflows, including taking alginate impressions, pouring stone models, prepping bite rims, and assisting with clinical denture adjustments and relines.
  • Safely capture clear digital diagnostic X-rays (Bitewings, Periapicals, and Panoramics) in compliance with Ohio state laws and ALARA safety guidelines.
  • Ensure clinical notes and charting are detailed, accurate, and structured to satisfy Ohio Medicaid diagnostic guidelines for claim pre-authorizations.
  • Assist with explaining treatment plans and out-of-pocket costs to cash-pay patients.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, CDC, and Ohio State Dental Board infection control standards.
  • Sterilize instruments, track logs, and disinfect and restock operatory rooms.
