Requirements

  • Illinois Dental Assistant Permit required, including completion of an approved radiation safety course and radiography training in compliance with Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation requirements
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Motivated and hardworking with the ability to multitask confidently in a busy environment
  • Self-managing and proactive
  • Calm, patient-centered presence that puts patients at ease throughout their visit
  • Strong communication skills with patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software and digital radiography
  • Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert chairside assistance to our doctor across a wide range of procedures
  • Assist across our full scope of services: preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, children's dentistry, implant dentistry, laser dentistry, clear aligner treatment, dental prosthetics, periodontal (gum) disease treatment, TMJ/TMD treatment, mouth guards, and emergency dentistry
  • Set up operatories and ensure instruments, materials, and equipment are prepared and ready before every appointment
  • Take and process dental radiographs in compliance with Illinois state regulations
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols
  • Ensure patient comfort and provide calm, compassionate support throughout every phase of treatment
  • Take dental impressions and assist with lab tasks as directed
  • Provide post-treatment instructions and oral hygiene education (brushing, flossing, nutritional counseling)
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in full compliance with HIPAA
  • Welcome patients and assist with check-in and check-out
  • Schedule and confirm appointments using practice management software
  • Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries professionally and warmly
  • Support billing, supply ordering, and additional office tasks as directed
