About The Position

Assists the dentist with procedures and prepares the patient and operatory for dental treatment. This role is responsible for organizing the operatory, preparing trays and instruments, explaining procedures to patients, assisting the dentist chairside, and taking x-rays and impressions.

Requirements

• Must pass national DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam within 30 days of hire or possess a record of passing the former Pennsylvania-specific radiology exam if qualified prior to 12/12/2009.
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of a certified dental assistant program preferred.
• 1 year experience in a dental practice/hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes the operatory, including preparing trays and instruments for dental procedures.
• Prepares and explains the dental procedure to the patient.
• Assists the dentist chairside with all dental procedures.
• Takes and develops intraoral/panorex/cephlometric x-rays, impressions and fabricates custom fluoride/bleaching trays.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
