Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred
  • Virginia Dental Radiation Certification required
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience with digital radiography
  • Experience with Open Dental preferred
  • Experience with digital scanners (iTero or Medit) preferred
  • Comfortable assisting with a wide range of general dental procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and team-first mentality
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with implant procedures
  • Experience with same-day digital workflows
  • Knowledge of treatment planning and patient education
  • Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols

Responsibilities

  • Assist the doctor chairside using four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient procedures
  • Take digital radiographs and intraoral images
  • Scan patients using iTero and Medit technology
  • Fabricate temporary crowns and provisional restorations
  • Assist with restorative, crown and bridge, implant, oral surgery, and other general dental procedures
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines
  • Review treatment plans and obtain patient consents
  • Educate patients on treatment recommendations and post-operative care
  • Maintain accurate patient records within Open Dental
  • Ensure exceptional patient experiences through outstanding customer service
  • Support front office and clinical team members as needed
