About The Position

Charles Street Dental is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time Dental Assistant to join their friendly, close-knit dental practice in Baltimore, Maryland. The office provides a warm, welcoming environment where patient care is the top priority. The ideal candidate will be skilled in assisting with dental procedures, committed to delivering exceptional care, and a reliable team player who values a supportive and patient-centered work environment. A strong work ethic and reliable attendance are essential. The role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, preparing and sterilizing instruments, taking X-rays, maintaining a clean clinical environment, and patient education to ensure comfort and understanding of treatments. Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude are important for success. The schedule is part-time, two days a week: Monday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm and Wednesday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with 60-minute lunch breaks.

Requirements

  • Active Maryland dental assistant EFDA license
  • Maryland Radiology license required
  • Dental Assistant training/school certification
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Experience with digital software, SoftDent preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of dental assisting clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during various dental procedures (required experience with Scanning and fabricate temporaries)
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
  • Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
  • Set up and break down treatment rooms before and after procedures
  • Provide patient education on proper oral hygiene and post-procedure care
  • Prepare and manage patient charts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Assist with taking dental impressions and preparing materials for dental appliances
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
  • Welcome patients and ensure patient comfort and help ease anxiety during treatments
  • Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards in the practice
  • Other tasks as instructed
