About The Position
Long Wharf Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant in New Haven, Connecticut, to join its clinical team. This role focuses on providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction within a team-based environment. As an integral part of the care team, the Dental Assistant will support the office and assist professional dental staff with treatments, contributing to the mission of delivering excellent dental care and creating positive patient experiences. Requirements
- Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program
- 1 year on-the-job-experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law

Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures (Clinical Support)
- Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care (Patient Care)
- Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models (Radiography & Diagnostics)
- Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations (Compliance & Safety)
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
- Help dentists manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory
