Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of accredited dental assisting training program. Certification preferred.
  • At least one (1) year experience in chairside dental assisting.
  • Familiar with computers, preferably dental software packages.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Adept hand-eye coordination.
  • Current Delaware X-Ray Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Dental assisting certification or relevant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for dental examinations by ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
  • Assist the dentist during exams and treatments by providing instruments, equipment, and materials as needed.
  • Make temporary restorations, scan teeth or implants for crowns and cavities.
  • Prepare operatories for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup.
  • Attend to patient needs during their visit and facilitate smooth treatment flow.
  • Dismiss patients at the end of their appointments, providing post-treatment instructions as directed.
  • Follow through on patient treatment plans as instructed by the dentist.
  • Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure all dental equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
  • Support administrative tasks as assigned by the Office Administrator.
