About The Position

Contemporary Dentistry of East Lansing is looking for a Dental Assistant in East Lansing, Michigan to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. We are looking for a team-oriented individual to join our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and committed to providing exceptional patient care while working collaboratively with our team. Our practice offers a full range of dental services, including cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, teeth whitening, and much more. Position Overview: As a Dental Assistant, you are an integral part of the care team, providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered.

Requirements

  • Two years of more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
  • X-Ray certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Nice To Haves

  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
