About The Position

This position supports the Crossings N. Penn Dental Clinic clinically (patient care and clinic care), administratively, and by coordinating dental clinic volunteers, within the scope of our clinic ministry. This role shares in coordinating, nurturing, training and delegating responsibilities to volunteers while exhibiting strong spiritual gifts of discernment, compassion, teaching and encouragement. This position reports to the Operations Manager at Crossings Community Clinic N. Penn.

Requirements

• Valid Oklahoma Dental Assistant Permit
• Dental assistant experience
• Fluent spoken Spanish; fluent spoken and written English
• Radiology certification preferred, required within first 2 months of employment
• Experience in non-profit, clinic or community clinic preferred
• Sustain “good standing” membership within a like-minded Faith Community
• Maintain a vibrant relationship with Christ through prayer, Bible study, regular worship attendance and Christian fellowship
• Recognize, process, maintain and protect confidential information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations

• Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
• Excellent listening, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills – tact and discretion
• Advanced proficiency, competency and speed in basic computer operation and use of Internet including Google Suite (Gmail, Google Sheets and Docs), and computer-based research
• Ability to learn clinic or practice-related software, database and scheduling applications
• Ability to meet the physical and work environmental demands of the job and perform all essential job functions
• Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile) and be able to lift and carry 10-20-pound parcels for distances of up to 500 feet
• Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license
• Ability to travel between locations as needed or requested

Responsibilities

• Patient care including Ensure dental assistant coverage for all dentists, including chairside assistance and all duties ethically and legally delegable to dental assistants (ex: radiographs), Traffic control of patient flow, Infection control: CDC and OSHA compliance officer, Interpretation (Spanish and English), Maintain a welcoming and encouraging environment for patients
• Clinic care including Maintenance of clinic, equipment and supplies, Manage supply inventory, including donations and orders, Lab case management
• Administrative support including Provide clinical forms (ex: consent forms), Scheduling/rescheduling as needed, Review end of day reports, Run reports as needed, HIPAA compliance, Establish and maintain professional, collegial relationships with outside service providers.
• Dental volunteer coordination including Maintain dental volunteer licenses, permits and volunteer forms., Implement orientation/training program: Orientation for new dental volunteers, Infection control and other updates for dental volunteers, Provide visible checklists for clinic duties, Manage volunteer database and records (dental only), Maintain a welcoming and encouraging environment for volunteers, Delegate projects and tasks to volunteers, matching volunteer interests and abilities with clinic needs
• Other: Schedule, staff and act as liaison to Special clinics (D-DENT, etc.), Events (ODA annual session, fundraisers, etc.)
• Crossings Community Clinic support including Participate in CCC, Crossings N. Penn, and Dental staff meetings, Maintain the highest possible clinic standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings Community Clinic, Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and patients, Represent the Clinic in civic and clinic-related efforts as approved, Complete any other duties or tasks to accomplish responsibilities associated with this position or as may be needed or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of the Clinic
• Responsibilities are encouraged to be delegated to volunteers as often as appropriate.
