Under the dentist's supervision, Dental Assistants perform medical and administrative skills to dental caregivers and supporting patients. A caregiver in this position works 8:00am to 5:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Assist with performing assessments and treatments. Perform diagnostic radiographs. Obtain alginate impressions for diagnostic and/or intra-oral appliances. Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned. Maintain dental equipment and medical supplies including sterilizing instruments, reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintain examination areas. Work in clinical and operating room settings as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • State certified as a Dental Assistant Radiographer
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Knowledge and understanding of the dental management of medically compromised patients to include cardiology, oncology, hematology, and infectious disease patients

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of dental assisting experience
