About The Position

The Dental Assistant will assist the clinic dentist during examination and treatment of patients, including helping patients remain as comfortable as possible before, during, and after treatment. This role involves exposing and processing dental x-rays, preparing patients, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, and preparing materials. The Dental Assistant will also provide patients with oral care instructions following procedures such as surgery or placement of a restoration, make study models of patients' teeth, and perform administrative assistance to the clinic and scheduling tasks. The position also includes assisting the dentist during treatment and carrying out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Licensed by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
• Certificate of registration issued by the State Board for dental x-rays
• 1 to 3 years of related dental clinic experience
• Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
• Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability insurance that meets the minimum required
• Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of dental care.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
• Knowledge of community patient care services in area of expertise.
