About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a full-time opportunity for a Dental Assistant to provide services at the Viera VA Clinic in Melbourne, Florida. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It offers consistent and predictable income, paid vacation and sick leave, and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance and a 401(k). The clinic is located at 2900 Veterans Way, Melbourne, FL 32940. The Dental Assistant performs chairside duties across phases of dentistry, including prosthodontics, periodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and endodontics. The role also includes patient intake and routing, recording patient-care information, using dental programs, educating patients, and providing verbal and written post-operative instructions after surgical procedures. The Dental Assistant instructs, assists, and answers questions for dental trainees.

Requirements

Successfully complete a one-year dental assistant program accredited by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
Have a minimum of one year of experience as a dental assistant.
Be competent in four-handed dentistry and assisting with specialty procedures such as oral surgery, periodontal therapy, endodontics, prosthodontics, and implant placement and restorations.
Have a Dental Radiological Certificate.
Have a current BLS and/or CPR card.

Responsibilities

Perform chairside assistant duties in all phases of dentistry, including prosthodontics, periodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and endodontics.
Receive and route patients and record information related to patient care.
Utilize dental programs and provide patients with educational materials related to their care.
Provide proper verbal and written post-operative instructions following surgical procedures.
Instruct, assist, and answer questions for dental trainees in the Dental Clinic.
