About The Position

Espire is seeking an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) who is passionate about dentistry and patient care. The role involves building trusting relationships with patients and team members while supporting excellent patient outcomes in a fun environment focused on dental care, technology, and hospitality. The assistant prepares patients and treatment areas, supports dentists and hygienists during procedures, maintains infection control and equipment, documents patient information, and provides oral health guidance and postoperative instructions. The position may include training that requires travel.

Requirements

• EDDA (Expanded Duties Dental Assistant) certification.
• Familiarity with dental equipment and instruments.
• Experience using digital technology and electronic medical records.
• Willingness and ability to participate in training, which may include travel.
• Willingness to build trust with others.
• Passion for dental work and patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Cerec, 3Shape, and intraoral scanning.
• Experience with sedation and dental implant placement and restoration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for dental work.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist with infection control and dental procedures.
• Assist dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
• Assist dental hygienists with procedures when necessary.
• Provide excellent patient care.
• Record treatment information in patient records.
• Expose dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes and care for dental x-ray equipment.
• Give patients information about dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
• Collect and record medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Care for dental equipment.
• Form preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
• Order dental supplies and maintain dental equipment inventory.
• Fabricate temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.
