About The Position
The Dental Assistant I supports dental providers by preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures. This role assists with chairside duties, takes x-rays, maintains supplies, and ensures a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good verbal communication skills
- Maintain BLS certification for continued employment
Nice To Haves
- One year of chairside dental experience
- Completion of a Dental Assistant training program or equivalent on-the-job training
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures
- Assist dentists and hygienists chairside during treatments
- Greet, seat, and prepare patients; take vital signs as needed
- Take digital dental x-rays in accordance with safety policies
- Clean and disinfect treatment areas; support instrument sterilization processes
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
- Assist with impressions, digital scans, and lab preparation under supervision
- Perform basic clerical tasks, including posting charges and reviewing schedules
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and organizational policies
- Promote patient safety, quality care, and a positive patient experience
