The Dental Assistant position is responsible for assisting the dentist(s) and the dental hygienist(s) in providing primary care dental services to patients at the clinic or in the mobile oral health unit as well as for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments supplies, and for proper infection control of all areas involving patient care. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED certificate required
  • Successful completion of a board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act
  • Coronal Polishing Certification
  • Successful completion of a board-approved course in X-Ray
  • Infection control required
  • A valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines
  • Valid CA Driver's License, if assigned to Mobile Units, required
  • Successful completion of background DOJ/FBI clearance within 30 days of hire, if assigned to Mobile Units, is required

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the dentist(s) and the dental hygienist(s) in providing primary care dental services to patients at the clinic or in the mobile oral health unit
