About The Position

HealthDrive is seeking a Dental Assistant (with Radiology Certificate) to fill a newly available position covering western Michigan. This position offers a Part-Time Schedule (1 day per week) with the opportunity to move to Full-Time (4 days per week) in the Summer of 2026. The position offers a pay rate of $25/hr, with mileage reimbursement available. There are no evening, weekend, or on-call hours required. Benefits are available when working 4+ days per week. The role includes an established patient base and a full administrative support team. All equipment and supplies are provided, including a laptop with a proprietary EMR system. Experienced leaders are in place to drive and support clinical and corporate success. HealthDrive delivers on-site dentistry, optometry, podiatry, audiology, and behavioral health services to residents in long-term care, skilled nursing, and assisted living facilities. Requirements

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently under direct supervision on a daily basis.
  • Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.
  • Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care.
  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Completion of formal Dental Assistant training (we can accept RDAs, CDAs, or DAs, for this role)
  • Previous relevant experience and/or externship experience required.
  • Must possess a current Radiology Certificate (or equivalent credential) to operate X-ray equipment; certificate must be verifiable at the start of each shift.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for dental procedures.
  • Assists Dentist during dental procedures.
  • Sterilizes or disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays and prepares materials.
  • Records treatment information in patient records.
  • Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
  • Assists dentist in the management of medical or dental emergencies.
  • Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
  • Clean and polish removable appliances.
  • Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
  • Operates X-ray equipment, with valid Radiology Certificate
  • Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment on a daily basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
