About The Position

Dental One Associates at Belair is looking for a Dental Assistant in Abingdon, Maryland to assist their clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. As a Dental Assistant, you are an integral part of the care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. The role supports the mission of providing excellent dental care in the community and helping to create more smiles and memorable experiences. This is a full-time position within a team that believes in teamwork and truly cares about their patients.

Requirements

Prior dental assisting experience
Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - Required
X-Ray certification - Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
